Ferry Hopper 852 is a free, ad-free app providing Hong Kong ferry schedules, favorites, reminders, language options, and optional nearest-region detection. It uses pseudonymous product analytics, not marketing tracking. This policy explains the information involved.

What the app uses

  • Route preferences, favorites, language choice, and reminder settings stored locally on your device.
  • Pseudonymous install and session identifiers sent with usage events to our analytics database. The install identifier is stored on your device and can link events across sessions; these records are not fully anonymous.
  • Usage events such as app opens, route views, favorites actions, language changes, reminder settings and permission choices, and starting a schedule report, along with app version and platform.
  • Schedule data sourced from official ferry operators and backend-managed checks.
  • Notification permission when you choose to use reminders.
  • Optional device location to suggest the nearest ferry region when you choose “Use my location”. Precise coordinates are not included in the app's usage analytics events.

No advertising or marketing tracking

  • No ads, ad pixels, or cross-app advertising tracking.
  • Usage analytics is for product improvement and reliability, not marketing tracking or advertising attribution.
  • No account registration is required to use the app.
  • Favorites and reminders are free for everyone.

How data is used

  • To show ferry schedules, countdowns, and freshness information.
  • To schedule reminders you request on your device.
  • To understand usage patterns such as route popularity, language usage, and reminder adoption.
  • For product improvement, reliability, and troubleshooting.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and message, including any details or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond to support, schedule reports, and privacy questions. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your request.

Third-party services

The app uses Supabase to host schedule data and our product analytics database, and Apple system services for optional notifications and location. Network requests also involve technical connection information, such as an IP address, which service providers may process in operational logs. These services support app functionality and reliability, not advertising.

Retention and privacy requests

Analytics records are used for product improvement, troubleshooting, and operational reporting. This policy does not promise a fixed automatic deletion period. Contact hello@ferryhopper852.com for retention or privacy questions. Because there is no user account, we may need additional information to locate pseudonymous records associated with your installation. Revoking device permissions does not delete analytics already sent.

Your choices

  • You can remove favorites and reminder settings inside the app.
  • You can revoke notification or location permission in iOS Settings at any time.
  • You can use all schedule features without enabling location.
